Economic Empowerment

equity, social responsibility and BEE programmes
and initiatives form part of and
are aligned to those of the New
Dawn Group of companies. The guidelines, approach and processes as
designed
and instituted by the holding company are applied
in New Dawn Spectra.
The employment equity programme is intended to:
- eradicate any unfair discrimination of whatever
kind insofar as the recruitment, hiring, training,
promotion, remuneration or retrenchment of staff
is concerned;
- introduce a structured measure of organisational
and attitudinal transformation with regard to the
development, training and promotion of the people
of New Dawn Spectra
- provide schools support, tertiary education support,
introduce an affirmative action programmes and focus
on non-discriminating employee facilities
Corporate social responsibility activities include
participation in focused community projects, fundraising,
donations and sponsorships, all aimed at the upliftment
and support of the broader community. A group-wide initiative, called the Black Empowerment
of South Africa Programme (BESAP), has been developed
to create a three-tiered framework for partnering
with black-owned businesses of all sizes. The program
includes focused procurement and sub-contracting
from BEE companies.
